When I was in high school I suffered from something that is a normal, natural part of growing up. I had severe acne. I was teased all through school and some of my fellow students gave me the unforgettable and highly disgusting nickname “zitsface”. When I think about my high school days it makes me really feel bad. I had acne. Most of the kids had acne. but I had acute acne. I remember how desperately alone I felt and how I tried everything I could get my hands on to get rid of my boils, zits and pimples.

A common misconception is acne. is the result of poor hygiene. I believed that and for a time and created my own cure. I scrubbed and used alcohol and harsh soaps and cleansing agents. I even tried abrasive cleansers like Clorox® but I soon found out that what I was doing only made it worse. I showered several times a day and washed my face as often as I could get to a sink but all it did was make my fingers wrinkle. I now know that poor hygiene causing acne. is a myth and that washing my face continually only made my acne. spread, still I continued to scrub thinking if I just scrubbed a little more it would eventually work.

My mother insisted that acne. came from eating sweets especially chocolates, my favorite candy, but that was another fallacy. I stopped eating candy completely but it made no difference at all. Since I was a skinny kid and didn’t need to lose weight the lack of sweets in my diet did absolutely nothing for me.

I heard about an acne. remedy came from a friend’s grandmother. It was a mixture of herbs and yogurt that you smear on your face. It was messy and embarrassing and I felt stupid but I was so tired of being called zitsface that I would have tried anything. The herbs like turmeric that I mixed with the yogurt made my face turn yellow which made my acne.look even worse than it already looked. My piers saw the discoloration and my nickname zitsface was reinforced.

My sister’s answer to my acne problems involved her girlie lotions and potions. These seemed to work for her minor breakouts but it did nothing for me. That didn’t stop her from chiding me about using her creams and potions and thick night mask pastes.

A friend told me to buy some over the counter cream and apply it liberally and then seal it with ice bags so that it caked solid on my face. It was probably an inferior acne remedy or it could have just been the numbing coldness of the ice, but the combination of the cream and the ice made my acne. worse than it had ever been.

My sister continued to insist that if I just listened to her and used her creams and lotions I would be clear faced in no time, after all it had worked for her. For some the best acne remedy for acne. is time.

Many acne sufferers clear up when they reach maturity. The lucky ones get through it without scars or any evidence of a once colorful nickname like zitsface but I was not one of the lucky ones.

I suffered with acne. well into my 20s and even into my 30s until I found a program that made some sense. If you suffer from acne. like I did you may find this program interesting. Check it out below.

Okay, so this is another easy one. Take a lemon, cut it in half, then into quarters. Take a quarter and rub the flesh (not the skin) on your problem areas. If you dont have a lemon, try bottled real lemon juice and apply with a cotton ball. It might sting a little, but that shows that its working It is supposed to lighten acne scarring, dissolve blackheads, and reduce pimples. Enjoy, and good luck!

Acne vulgaris. It’s an unkind-sounding term for a common skin problem: acne breakouts that affect teens and adults and leave behind horrid scars.

Acne vulgaris is the result of excessive production of bacteria that normally play an important role in protecting our skin from other micro-organisms and creating sebum for the lubrication of the surface of our skin.

Those bacteria become a problem when excessive sebum production, triggered by hormonal upswings during puberty or toxins from food we eat cause them to multiply rapidly. As their flow outside is blocked and sebum accumulates within the sebum canals swelling and inflammation is a result.

Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxyl acid, derived from the bark of the willow tree, that has a wide variety of uses related to skin care. Beta hydroxyl acids are better at treating surface skin conditions than their alpha hydroxyl acid relations, as they have larger molecules which do not penetrate the layers of skin so easily. Because alpha hydroxyl acids pass deep into the skin, they can cause further irritation, making skin conditions worse.

The main use of salicylic acid is to reduce the symptoms of mild acne. Acne is caused by excess oil production and skin cells shedding in hair follicles. This blocks the follicle and provides a place for bacteria to grow, resulting in inflammation and a pimple. This over-the-counter treatment works by slowing down the rate at which the skin cells shed, and breaks down the material that creates the spot.

You can combine salicylic acid with a variety of other substances to increase its’ acne fighting properties; one good example is retinol. However, you should not combine this acid with sulfur, benzoyl peroxide or resorcinol as this will be too irritating for the skin. It will stimulate oil production, making your condition worse.

You will often find salicylic acid used in chemical peels used to reduce the appearance of mild acne scarring, and to generally purify the skin. The concentration of this acid will have an impact on the effectiveness of the peel. Up to 20% can be used, but this may cause extensive skin peeling for around three days, and may be too strong to be used in weekly peels.

Salicylic acid can be used as a remedy for various other skin conditions. It is often an active ingredient in anti-dandruff shampoos, and is used to treat skin disorders such as psoriasis. It also has collagen boosting properties that make it ideal for slowing the development of wrinkles.

Applying this topical treatment in gel form to warts and verrucas has two benefits. Firstly it softens the layers of skin that make up the wart, enabling removal with a pumice stone. Secondly it irritates the wart or verucca, which stimulates the immune system to fight harder to get rid of it.

So what are the negative effects of salicylic acid? The first you may have heard about – it can cause birth defects when taken by pregnant women. The truth is that women would need to take large doses of this acid orally for their baby to be in any danger. Even so, it is advisable for pregnant women to avoid using it, as it does penetrate the skin and enter the blood stream to some degree. Another potential side effect of salicylic acid is that it can cause hyper-pigmentation, when used in high concentrations on darker skin.

Overall it is a fairly safe and cheap way to treat mild skin complaints. As a rule you should always start with a low concentration of the acid, and build up if it is not having the desired effect. You should also ensure that it only comes into contact with affected skin and not healthy skin when used in higher concentrations.

Accutane second time?
Alright I took Accutane when I was 14, the only side effects I had be chapped lips, and dry skin. cne came back but not implicit as bad, the doctor said I should take it again. I have be reading things online, about it having serious side effects. Should I take it again? nil else really…

Accutane side effects?
i’ve just finished taking the whole 6 months-worth of Accutane pills (acne medication) and wanted to know how long it should transport for Accutane’s side effects to disappear? ks in advance to anyone who answers… – Here is your answer http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;… – * Pain and swelling of the lips …

Accutane sound out more or less scar? Help?
I just went to the dermatologist for the first time and i got some pills and other stuff to try and if that doesnt work she is going to put me on accutane straight away so im excited logically. I have unfortunately some scars from acne on my chest and support. Not like…

Accutane, tanning & the Sun?
How many weeks or months after being off Accutane is it ok to bring a light tan? I’m not talking something like white to brown skin. Ghostly white to healthy white is what I’m going for. – Provided that you don’t burn, six weeks is the usual time given. However, should you actually experience a…

Accutane: What’s your story?
Generic Name: isotretinoin (oral) (EYE so TRET i noyn) What side effects did you suffer from? What’s your story? I was on Accutane when I was in order 7&8 (when I was 12 and 13) I suffered from CHRONIC nose bleeds, sensitive skin (I couldn’t go out surrounded by the sun), and suicidal thoughts(by the end).

Accutane? Is it ok to use moisturisers whilst taking accutane, or will it aggitate my skin more? (please read)?
Well, Ive been on 8 courses of antibiotics now, and ALOT of over the counter products for years. Im 16, and my doctor told me that he was going to prescribe accutane for me very soon. However, Hes given me a week…

Accutane?
im about to be put on it. any storys or warnings? thankyou lots – I’ve been on Accutane for 6 months. And it is awesome. have severe acne for 7 years and I tried Accutane; it really, really does work. But it is pricey, and there will be side effects (Eg. your joints will hurt, your hair…

ACETONE contained by skin supervision product?
My mom & i, are testing a beauty product recommended by my Mom’s friend. her skin has stunningly improved since the last time we saw her. according to her she’s been using that product for 8 days presently. her friends, also using the same product, are getting the same good results. today is our first…

Acne serve !?
i have acne on my whole face, on a size of 1-10 it would be a 7-8 do you know any products that i can buy IN STORES? – i cant tell u what to get cuz i dont know anything about your skin but DONT try…

Acne bootcamp…?
Has anyone tried this. The results seem amazing but i’m still skeptical. If this can get rid of my acne and marks next i will try save up and take a trip from London to New York. anyone tried this treatment? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uahhNC3Hn… seem legit!! – London to new york? Not worth it!…

Acne – Steam Room V. Sauna?
So im wondering if theres any diffrence between these 2. and how long once should stay in there. Thanks. – forget both just see a dermatologist.within a week of taking acne drugs you’ll be pizza face free – I’d say the steam room would be better for you because it will open and cleanse…

Acne abet I will live u forever!?
What helps me is washing my face next to a PanOxyl 5% benzoyl peroxide bar and applying either Retin-A Micro or Alpha Hydrox Souffle at night. In the morning you can rinse your face with the PanOxyl bar again, or you can swab your face with something more gentle approaching Plexion (you’ll need a…

Acne abet. This is so embarassing…?
So I used Clinique Acne Spot on Treatment and then put little dabs of clearasil tinted acne cream over my pimples as well. I woke up to realize that my pimple are above all gone, except my tinted clearasil won’t wipe off my face and is stuck on there. Ahhhh this is so embarassing. I…

Acne and acne scar please support?
well i have acne and some acne scars. So i want to know roughly speaking a good mask i can use to help my acne acquire cleared up a little. – When I get a pimple, I like to put honey on it overnight. Sounds really odd, but honey have been used for medicinal…

Acne and Doxycycline?
So I have been taking Doxycycline 200mg a day for roughly three weeks. The first week my face was clearing up it was for a while dry but healing and now its just breaking out again I know i havent be taking it very long but im still upset whe i was 16 and took it, it worked…

Acne and moisturizing give somebody the third degree??
well im on benzoyl perox… every night (2.5%). and i wash my obverse every night and morning. hear everyone saying stuff about moisturizing..i dont do it. but when are you supposed to moisturize? right after applying BP? or when idk. lend a hand please..and thanks – Moisterize in the…

Acne and Scarring? How to fix?
I have acne and scars on my face. From a distance, neither are perceptible, but from close range all of the scars and pimples are adjectives. I’ve had mostly scars on my cheeks, with somewhat bit of acne as well, and now I’m growing more acne on my forehead. scars…

Acne and withdrawal of blood to frontage?
this sounds a bit odd, but im wondering if maybe part of my acne is due to not adequate blood/oxygen to my face. But say I do some push ups and profusely of blood rushes to my face.. a little while after and until i stop exercising.. its like my obverse has more colour…

Acne anti-biotic abet please?
I’ve just been prescribed lymecycline 408mg, to be taken once a day. Ive with the sole purpose been taking them for 6 days, so i know i wont see results for a few weeks atleast. But im already getting worried and parinoid that they wont work. Ive used endless face cleansers and exfoliaters and loads of different…

Acne at 29 years of age?
I have what looks like zits on my face but I am beyond the age of getting zits. entry is that they are not really zits. They are kind of like blisters. They are not whiteheads, or blackheads. They don’t pop. And they last for several months until they jump away–usually…

Acne backing!! please support!!?
okay I’ve been using clean and clear kit and neutrogena oil- free acne bathe.. the first day I used clean and clear kit and I have less pimples . so the next day I used the neutrogena grease free acne wash and it made my skin kinda dry and I break out some more than i used…

Acne blotch removal products?
i have acne scars on my cheeks that are red and dot like, not raise or sunk in just kind of within and really annoying… but i was wondering if anyone knew any good blotch removal products(please no remedies) FOR CHEAP (that’s a main criteria) and is willing to share commend using herbal cream like Zenmed Scar…
